Two roseate spoonbills fly along the Atlantic Ocean coast of central Florida.
Spoonbills are closely related to the ibis and fly with their necks outstretched. Their pink color ranges from pale pink to bright magenta. Spoonbills are fun to watch - they feed in shallow waters in groups (usually in a straight line, one after the other). They walk together swinging their bills from side to side, snapping up fish, and are quite a humorous sight. They love roosting in trees - especially mangrove, cypress and willow trees.

I wish I could experience the joy of flying birds. I used to think getting into a plane would satisfy that hunger, but I soon discovered I needed to land on a tree at moment notice; or take a nose dive all the way to the ground and end up landing on my feet!
